The People page has Sessions, People, and Live tabs. They show individual sessions, visitor profiles, and the visitors active now. DataVisitors keeps these views off by default.
Aggregate analytics on the Dashboard do not depend on this setting.
The privacy gate
An administrator switches on Individual surfaces on the project's Settings page, under Privacy. The change is recorded in the audit log.
When the gate is on, everyone with project access can view individual paths. Review this access before you enable the gate.
An administrator can turn the gate off again. The gate changes access to the views.
Sessions
The Live tab lists the visitors active now.
Each row shows a generated alias, last reported page, last activity, and device information. Select Open on a session to follow that visit's page changes and events. Select the person to inspect visitor history.
Active means an event arrived in the last 30 minutes. It does not confirm that the visitor still has the page open. The list shows the 24 most recently active visitors. When more visitors exist, it shows both counts.
Use the range buttons to select a period. Recent sessions use the selected period.
The Live tab shows visitors with activity during the last 30 minutes. It refreshes every 30 seconds.
The signed-in view groups visitors by country. It does not show a precise visitor position or city.
In the Sessions tab, each row shows last activity, entry path, exit path, page views, and device class.
Select Open on a recent session row to view its event feed.
The feed shows the latest 500 events in time order. It updates automatically every 30 seconds, including during an active visit. It shows event times, page paths, page views, captured clicks, and custom event names. Click rows show the reported element label, ID, or tag when available. Expand View properties to read the complete stored event properties.
Click details require click capture in the installed tracker. Custom events require event tags or SDK calls. The session view displays event records. It does not record the visitor's screen.
Visitor profiles
Select the person from a session row, or from the People tab, to open a profile.
The profile shows first seen, last seen, sessions, page views, and events. It also shows the newest event feed.
The conversion signal compares sessions, page views, and events with the average visitor. Each ratio has a maximum value of three.
The system averages the available ratios. It then shows the result from -100% to +200% against the average.
This value is a relative activity signal. It is not a conversion probability.
Actual value sums the visitor's sg_purchase events. Estimated value multiplies average visitor revenue by the activity ratio.
The system calculates each currency separately. It does not convert or combine currencies.
DataVisitors resolves a profile by the customer user ID when available. It otherwise uses the anonymous visitor ID.
Saved funnels add a Funnel progress section. Each row shows the deepest completed step for that visitor.
Public sharing
Public share links never include sessions, profiles, or people. They show aggregate dashboard data only.
The person profile
Open a person from a session row, or from the People tab.
The profile shows:
- Traits — the facts YOUR system sent via
identify(userID, traits)or the traits API, reserved keys first (name, email, plan, company, role). A provenance badge marks values that arrived from a non-customer source ("enrichment:clearbit"). URL-shaped values render as TEXT — the dashboard never fetches a third-party asset. - Facts — latest-known location (country · region · timezone, plus city when the double gate stored it) and the device trio.
- Source — the first-touch and last-touch attribution (channel · source · campaign). "Came from x.com" reads off this line; social and AI-assistant referrers classify automatically.
- The tiles, funnel progress, and the event feed — which shows each event's properties and the time delta since the previous row.
Request erasure (administrator, with a confirmation) asks the service's worker to delete the person's events, rollup rows and traits. The worker answers within minutes and keeps a receipt with a hash, never the key or a value. The Erasure requests section of the page lists the requests.
Everything here stays behind the project's Individual surfaces switch and off every share surface.
The people list
The People tab lists people seen in the selected period. Individual surfaces must be on.
- Each row shows the person's name from identify traits, or the id, the last and first time seen, the events, the sessions, the last event and the country.
- Select a column head to sort by last seen, first seen or events.
- Type a name or the start of an id in Search, then select Search. A name comes from the
nameordisplay_nametrait. An email address is not searched. - Type an event name in Last fired event, then select Search. The list then shows only the people who fired that event, most recent first.
- Select a person to open the profile.
DataVisitors shows fifty people for each page. The list reads a rollup that DataVisitors fills when an event arrives. Imported events are not in it, and heartbeats do not count as events.
When an administrator erases a person's events, the person leaves the list at once.
