The Product page has Funnels, Retention, Segments, Journeys, Attribution, and Properties tabs. One range controls the range-based tabs.
Funnels
A funnel counts visitors who complete ordered event steps within a time window.
- Enter two through five event names in order.
- Separate each event name with a comma.
- Select
1h,24h, or7d. - Enter a saved name when you want to keep the definition.
- Select Save funnel.
The result shows a visitor count for each step. Later steps also show completion as a percentage of the first step.
Saved funnels can be loaded or deleted. On a plan that includes scheduled reports, Mail weekly sends a saved funnel to you every week; Stop mailing ends it. Plan limits can disable the funnel editor: funnels are in the Starter plan and above.
Retention
Retention uses weekly cohorts from the last eight weeks. A cohort starts in the week when DataVisitors first sees a visitor.
Column +0 shows activity in the first week. Later columns show how many cohort visitors returned in each later week.
Plan limits can disable retention: retention cohorts are in the Growth plan and above.
Segments
A segment filters one event by one property value.
Enter the event name, property name, and exact value. DataVisitors reports matching visitors and matching events.
You can save a segment by name. Saved segments can be loaded or deleted, and mailed weekly like a saved funnel.
Journeys
Journeys rank the most common page sequences. Each sequence uses the first three page views of a visit in time order.
The count shows the visits that followed the sequence. An empty card means that no journey exists in the selected range.
Attribution
Attribution explains which acquisition touch brought visitors who reached a goal.
Select an active goal. Then switch between first-click and last-click attribution.
The result groups conversions by channel, source, and campaign. Source uses UTM source when present, then the referrer host.
Attribution uses page and screen view touches inside the selected range. It credits one first or last touch per converted visitor.
Create goals on the Tracking page before you use attribution. See Goals for target rules.
Properties
The Properties tab shows the custom properties an event carries.
- Open Product, then Properties.
- Select an event. Custom properties ride the event that carries them.
- Read the keys with their event and visitor counts.
- Select a key to read its values with counts. DataVisitors shows at most 100 values.
- Use a value as the Dashboard's property filter: type
key:valuein the filter field there.
A string value shows without its quotes. A number and a boolean show as they are.
The Query API and the MCP query tool accept prop:<key> as a breakdown dimension. The breakdown counts every event that carries the key.
The property allowlist
An administrator can limit which property keys the Dashboard shows. Open the project's Settings page, then Properties. Enter one key per line, at most 300 keys of at most 64 characters, and select Save allowlist. An empty list shows every key.
DataVisitors still stores an unlisted key, and the raw event export still contains it. The Properties tab and the prop: breakdown do not show it.
