Share a dashboard with a link

Public links show read-only analytics without an account. Anyone with the URL can open the page. Each link has its own sharing options.

Create a link

An administrator creates links in the Sharing section of the project's Keys page.

1. Enter a name for your own list.
2. Select the content under Opens: the dashboard or the people map. With the dashboard, choose the overview or one board under Board, and tick Include the reports for the full report.
3. Select Create link.
4. Copy the complete URL immediately.

DataVisitors reveals the complete URL one time. A later page load shows the link record but not the secret URL.

The link token is the access right. Share it only with the intended readers.

What a public page shows

The public page shows the project display name and aggregate analytics. It includes headline, session quality, realtime, and common breakdowns.

Shared dashboards and boards show the DataVisitors logo and name in their headers. Their footers say Made with DataVisitors and link to the product website. These links do not send the share address as a referrer.

A link can open a board instead of the overview. Select the board under Board when you create the link. The public board shows the board's widgets with aggregate figures only. An annotations widget shows a line that says annotations are not shared. When you archive the board, its links stop working.

The world map shows aggregate visitor counts at fixed country centers. It never shows a visitor identifier, city, or precise coordinate.

Add ?realtime=1 to refresh the page every 30 seconds. The page keeps the live setting when a reader changes the range.

Readers can select today, 7d, or 30d. The page does not require a DataVisitors session.

The page never shows individual sessions, visitor identifiers, user profiles, workspace IDs, or project IDs.

Full reports

Tick Include the reports under Opens to create an expanded report link. The page has Overview, Pages, Sources, Events, Funnels, Locations, and Technology tabs. The tabs show aggregate figures from the selected project and period. Saved funnels appear when the workspace's plan includes funnels.

The overview compares the current period with the previous period. The page shows its last refresh time. Readers can enable automatic refresh every 30 seconds.

Tables show a limited number of leading results. The page names each limit. The Funnels tab shows up to ten saved funnels.

A link keeps the content it was created with. To change what a link opens, create a new link and revoke the old one. Board links keep their board content.

Optional anonymous activity

The activity feed is off by default. It requires a full report link and a separate administrator choice.

1. Open Keys, then Sharing.
2. Create a link with Include the reports ticked.
3. Tick …and the activity feed as well.
4. Select Create link.

The Activity tab shows up to 50 recent events in the selected period. Each row shows only the event name, page path, and time. It shows no visitor profile, visitor identifier, session identifier, or event properties. Identify events, Web Vitals beacons, and engagement beacons do not enter this feed.

Review event names and page paths before you enable the feed. Anyone with the link can read these values. Revoke the link to remove the feed. The feed exists only on a link that includes the reports.

People map links

Public map access is off by default. An administrator switches on Public people map on the project's Settings page, under Privacy. Then, in the Sharing section of the Keys page, select The people map under Opens and create the link. The URL is shown once; create a new link if you did not save it.

Turning off public map access revokes its existing links. Turning it on again does not restore those links. This switch does not affect separate dashboard or board links.
