How fast is your connection right now?

Latency, jitter, download and upload, measured from this browser, and what that means for video calls, streaming and gaming. It is the same speed test DataVisitors customers put on their own sites.

Before you press the button

What one test uses, what it sends, and what we keep.

  • About 46 MB per test

One test uses about 46 MB of data, and up to about 271 MB on a very fast connection, where a short test cannot measure well. A slow connection stops sooner and uses less, and a connection your browser marks as metered never goes past about 46 MB.

  • Nothing runs until you press the button

Opening this page loads the test and measures nothing; no result is sent. The test starts only when you press Test my connection.

  • Your browser talks to Cloudflare

When the test measures against Cloudflare's speed-test servers, your browser connects to them, and they see your IP address. The result is not sent to Cloudflare's result log.

  • Stored without an identifier

We store the result without any identifier for you, your visit or your device.

  • Your location only if you say yes

Say yes to the location question and your browser asks before it shares where you are. The position is rounded before it leaves your device, never finer than your device itself measured. Say no, or nothing, and your result is saved without it.
